In Herman’s eyes the champ is ducking potential #1 contender Chris “The All-American” Weidman. Herman went on record as saying “Anderson’s trying to duck him. I think it’s ’cause Weidman can beat him and everyone knows it. It sucks, there’s politics involved, there’s a lot of money on the line, and it’s sad to see the No. 1 contender not get a shot because Anderson’s camp is choosing who he wants to fight. I’d like to see Weidman get a shot because I think he can take out Anderson Silva.”

Chael spoke with UFC Today’s Ariel Helwani about a possible move to the Light Heavyweight division. “There is simply an option to start over by changing weight class. My mentors have done it, and it could happen. I would go up to 205. Jon Jones. There are some great guys at 185, but traditionally and historically, it is a good way to get a fresh start and start over.”

The event will serve as BJ Penn‘s comeback fight, where he hopes to defeat the up and coming Canadian Rory MacDonald. During the course of the press conference Rory went on record as saying: “He’s upset because Georges whooped him, but I’m going to hurt him (BJ Penn) even worse.” UFC (@UFC) tweeted the quote by MacDonald.

By Evan Stoumbelis Wednesday night in the UFC on Fuel TV 4 main event, fans saw Chris Weidman face Mark Munoz. The All American Chris Weidman connected with an elbow that sent The Filipino Wrecking Machine Mark Munoz down. Weidman quickly began punching the downed Munoz, who was clearly unconscious. After several punishing blows referee Josh Rosenthal finally stepped in. Talk of Rosenthal’s late stoppage was quick to surface with Dana White taking to twitter saying: “Oh and by the way, horrible late stoppage by the ref. Mark took more shots than he should have. I can’t stand when refs blow it!!!”

By Evan Stoumbelis Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre has his sights set on becoming the David Beckham of Mixed Martial Arts.  The 36 year old Los Angeles Galaxy star player has a whopping salary of £160million, and earns around £26million from sponsorships. (The Sun)  St. Pierre only earns £5million for headlining a PPV fight.  St. Pierre said “My goal one day is to be the David Beckham of MMA but I still have a lot to do to reach that point. Mr Beckham is a great role model and I aspire to do the same.”  GSP suffered an ACL tear in December while training for a fight with now-suspended fighter Nick Diaz.  Georges has his sights set on a November comeback against interim Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit at UFC 154

By Evan Stoumbelis Last Friday Johnson vs McCall II headlined UFC on FX 3, where fans saw Demetrious Johnson defeat Ian McCall via unanimous decision. Johnson now moves on to fight Joseph Benavidez to become the first ever UFC Flyweight champion. Unfortunately, after seeing a slight climb in viewers during UFC on FX 2, numbers dropped by 300,000 for UFC on FX 3. The prelims, which aired on Fuel TV also suffered a drop in viewers, with 29,000 less people tuning in. As I watched the event I noticed it was lacking in the star-power aspect, which is understandable given that the UFC is holding 20 events in 22 weeks. Below is the compiled ratings for all 3 UFC on FX shows as well as the prelims hosted on Fuel TV.
