The UFC is putting the final touches on another Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series bout. Featherweights Zach Zane (12-7) and Justin Gonzales (8-0) are on a crash course for Las Vegas on June 25, sources tell BJPenn.com
Born and raised in Wailuku, Hawaii, “God’s Warrior” Zach Zane has been on a dominant run, competing for regional promotions around the world.
A veteran of Brave CF and Alaska FC, Zane earned the X-1 Welterweight Championship in his last bout, defeating Keali’i Kanekoa by first round submission.
After kicking off his career going 4-7, Zane has steered things around, winning eight straight fights — all inside the distance.
Zane’s opponent Justin Gonzales is also riding an eight-fight win streak at the professional level. Unlike Zane, however, Gonzales has not lost as a professional and has gone to the judges’ decision five times.
The June 25 episode of Contender Series is currently scheduled as “Episode 2” for the upcoming season 3.
