Once scheduled UFC rivals Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz could potentially be on a collision course again after recent social media barbs. 2025 was the final year for many UFC legends, including Dustin Poirier, Anthony Smith, and others. Poirier retired following a BMF title loss to Max Holloway at UFC 318 in front of a homecoming crowd in New Orleans.

Jorge Masvidal is bringing back Gamebred bareknuckle MMA. Masvidal told MMAJunkie on Monday that the promotion is planning two tournaments, each with a $500,000 prize pool. It will be a 16-man tournament, one at heavyweight and one in lightweight. All four rounds of the tournament will take place in 2026, with a launch date of April 10 in the Dominican Republic, and the second event is targeted for May 1 in Miami.

Paddy Pimblett isn’t packing on the pounds as much as people might think following UFC 324. “The Baddy” hasn’t been shy in admitting he likes to indulge after each of his fights. Pimblett said he gained a whopping 42 pounds just one week after his UFC 314 victory over Michael Chandler. Pimblett always gets himself in shape for his bouts, but perhaps he’s dialing back on his post-fight routine.

Amanda Nunes is wishing Kayla Harrison well in her recovery from neck surgery. Nunes was expected to end her retirement at UFC 324 on Jan. 24. The UFC Hall of Famer was set to challenge Harrison for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. That plan didn’t materialize, as Harrison went under the knife for a neck issue that had been lingering for years.

When it comes to the title of ‘fan favorite’, Nate Diaz has had that locked up for many years. While he may not have been the most successful fighter in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he certainly kept everyone on his toes throughout the course of his run with the promotion.

Arman Tsarukyan has conceded that Islam Makhachev was previously the only lightweight who could outwrestle him. Right now, Arman Tsarukyan feels like the number one contender in waiting at 155 pounds. Unfortunately, he wasn’t given the chance to shine at UFC 324 in the interim lightweight title fight, and instead, Justin Gaethje took advantage of his opportunity and became the champ. Now, he’s expected to go on and face Ilia Topuria to unify the titles, perhaps at the White House this summer.

Longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan has recalled why he decided to stop competing in combat sports. Before Rogan became a well-known entertainer and UFC broadcaster, he competed in taekwondo. Rogan rose to prominence quickly in the sport, as he won the U.S. Open Taekwondo Championship at the age of 19. He was also a four-time Massachusetts state champion.

Daniel Cormier gets why Michael Page isn’t thrilled with the choice of his opponent for UFC London. Following his unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier, many expected Page to receive a top-ranked opponent in his next outing. Page had already fought the likes of Ian Machado Garry in the welterweight division, so it was natural to assume he’d get a bigger fight. Instead, he draws the unranked Sam Patterson.

Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway are set to collide in the UFC 326 main event, but it won’t be the first time they clash. On Aug. 23, 2015, Oliveira and “Blessed” had a featherweight bout in Saskatoon. The fight ended abruptly just one minute and 39 seconds in. Oliveira suffered a ruptured esophagus and Holloway was awarded the TKO win.

Dricus du Plessis believes he can put forth a far better effort against Khamzat Chimaev in a rematch. Chimaev turned in a dominant performance against du Plessis back in Aug. 2025. “Borz” had nearly 22 minutes of control time on his way to a unanimous decision and the UFC middleweight title. It was a wipeout and many questioned who can give Chimaev a run for his money at 185 pounds.

Cory Sandhagen might be coming off a loss in a UFC title fight, but he still believes his name should be higher than Sean O’Malley when considering Petr Yan’s next opponent. Yan became a two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion when he turned in a stellar performance against Merab Dvalishvili at the end of 2025. “No Mercy” won the fight via unanimous decision, and many expect a trilogy fight once Yan recovers from lumbar surgery.

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier became the latest former or current UFC star to respond to boxing champion Shakur Stevenson. Boxing superstar Shakur Stevenson ruffled some feathers with comments he made earlier this week about Mixed Martial Arts and the UFC. Stevenson, sitting alongside Terence Crawford while on influencer Adin Ross’ stream, publicly called out Ilia Topuria and claimed boxing is superior to MMA.

UFC middleweights Sean Strickland and Anthony Hernandez are two of the toughest fighters in modern Mixed Martial Arts. Both fighters put on entertaining fights inside the cage, while showcasing a hard persona outside of the Octagon.

Sean Strickland believes he’s got the best shot to take the UFC Middleweight Championship from Khamzat Chimaev. Strickland may have dropped two bouts against Dricus du Plessis, but he feels he could give Chimaev some problems with his fighting style. Talking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Strickland said that he’d have a better chance of dethroning “Borz” than his UFC Houston opponent Anthony Hernandez (h/t MMAFighting).

A longtime UFC analyst and coach feels that Conor McGregor will finally make his return at the UFC White House event. McGregor hasn’t seen action inside the Octagon since 2021 when he broke his leg in a trilogy fight against the now retired Dustin Poirier. Returns have been teased for McGregor. The “Notorious” one was even booked for a UFC 303 showdown with Michael Chandler, but it ultimately never materialized.

The UFC is headed back to Canada, and the fight card for the event is already coming together. The MMA promotion is set to touch down in Ottawa, Ontario, the country’s capital city, on April 18. The event will most likely occur at the Canadian Tire Centre, the home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. The plan has not been officially confirmed by the company, but several  journalists have reported the card is in the works, including veteran Canadian MMA media member Adam Martin.

As we know, Alexander Volkanovski is one of the greatest fighters of his generation – and that much is obvious. ‘The Great’ has done some wonderful things throughout the course of his mixed martial arts career, including becoming a two-time champion at 145 pounds. In his most recent outing, he was able to defeat Diego Lopes for a second time to retain his championship.
