It was last Saturday, April 8th at UFC 287 that saw Chris Curtis (30-10 MMA) in a middleweight bout with Kelvin Gastelum (18-8 MMA) at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

The result was a unanimous decision loss for the 35 year old Curtis.

Following the bout, Curtis said:

“I thought I won, the numbers back it. Tough fight and good for KG, but that headbutt cost me the fight on optics. Even with it happening, I still managed to tie the round on strikes. That sucks… that really f**king sucks.”

If that loss wasn’t enough, the official UFC rankings came out which saw Curtis clining to the No. 15 spot while the 31 year old Gastelum was promoted to No. 11.

Curtis took to ‘Twitter‘ to share his reaction to the UFC rankings:

“He gets moved to Rank 11 for that bullsh*t when I for sure wouldn’t have just proves it’s about the story of Kelvin is back. What a f**king joke. … I would have gained a spot at best.”

The old saying put your money where your mouth is – Curtis is taking to heart – as he’s making it known he will be filing an appeal in an attempt to overturn the results of his fight with Gastelum this past weekend.

Chris Curtis ‘The Action Man’ took to ‘Twitter’ to announce he’s filing an appeal:

“I don’t know man. Filing an appeal now so that’s my main focus.”

As for Gastelum, his victory was a much needed win – as he’d lost 2 in a row coming into UFC 287.

Curtis, now has 2 losses in his last 4 fights in the Octagon.

Were you watching Curtis vs. Gastelum last weekend? Do you agree that Chris Curtis should file an appeal over the decision?
