UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has responded to Marlon Vera’s recent remarks following UFC 299.
Last weekend, Sean O’Malley put a real beating on Marlon Vera. He dominated and defeated him via unanimous decision, successfully retaining his title in the process.
As you can imagine, this was a pretty hard pill to swallow for Marlon Vera. The two have been engaged in a rivalry for years now, with the series being tied at 1-1 – although, few expect to see them run it back anytime soon.
For ‘Chito’, it’s time to go back to the drawing board – but not before taking a few more shots at his rival. In a recent tweet exchange, the two went back and forth over suggestions from Vera that O’Malley was “greased” for their UFC 299 main event.

Inside the Octagon, it feels safe to say that these two won’t meet for quite some time, if ever again. Alas, they’re both very proud individuals, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them continue to throw shots at one another.
For Vera, it’s all about making sure he can try to get back in the win column in his next outing. On the flip side, O’Malley has a parade of potential contenders knocking on the door, including Merab Dvalishvili.
