Former UFC champion Robert Whittaker isn’t happy with Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier after their commentary on his physique at UFC 329.

Robert Whittaker’s light heavyweight debut last weekend at UFC 329 couldn’t’ve gone much better as he finished Top 15 mainstay Nikita Krylov on the prelims.

After a rocky first round, Whittaker finished Krylov by TKO to get back on track in his highly anticipated move to the light heavyweight division. Whittaker snapped a recent losing skid of defeats to Khamzat Chimaev and Reinier de Ridder before making the move to 205 lbs.

For the first time in many years, Whittaker went through a seamless weight cut ahead of UFC 329. As Whittaker entered the Octagon at UFC 329, commentators Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier questioned Whittaker’s perceived ‘softy’ and ‘puffy’ physique, which ended up being null and void after his nasty finish.

In one of the first public statements since UFC 329, Whittaker responded to Rogan and Cormier’s commentary.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Whittaker responded to Rogan and Cormier’s pre-UFC 329 comments about his LHW debut physique.

“Are we going to talk about the elephant in the room? The commentary calling me fat, talking about my weight?” Whittaker said.

“Did I look that out of shape? I had abs the day before; I just had some salt bloat going on. I definitely think I started a bit hard – I had to work into the warmup, and the nerves made things go differently in the first round. I found my rhythm as the fight progressed!”

Whittaker seemed to laugh off criticisms of his new physique as he looks to contend in the light heavyweight division. After his brutal win at UFC 329, Whittaker could face a top contender and move one step closer to a light heavyweight title shot.
