News was revealed on Monday that former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans was pulled from his scheduled fight against Tim Kennedy for the second time. Kennedy was a guest on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour and said that he learned on Sunday that Evans was unable to get licensed by the Ontario Athletic Commission for their UFC 206 bout.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans can’t seem to catch a break. Evans was pulled from New York’s UFC 205 event earlier this month after not being able to be licensed for a fight under the New York Commission’s rules.

After unfortunate news surfaced this week that UFC 205 has lost a highly anticipated middleweight showdown between Rashad Evans & Tim Kennedy, fight fans will be pleased to hear that the fight has been rescheduled. Earlier this week when it was announced that Evans had pulled out of the fight, it was not immediately revealed what the circumstances surrounding his withdrawal were. Shortly after the announcement however, Evans revealed that he had been flagged during a pre-fight MRI, and while he passed all his medical tests, it was determined that he would not be granted a license to fight in New York.

The fight, which was set to serve as Evans highly anticipated middleweight debut, would have taken place on the Fox Sports 1 preliminary card of the event.
