It’s no secret that Conor McGregor has a tough weight cut when dropping to featherweight. In a recent article we compared McGregor’s size prior to his fight with Jose Aldo to before his UFC 196 fight with Nate Diaz. During the UFC 196 weigh-ins yesterday, McGregor weighed in at 168 pounds, 2 pounds lower than the 170 pound welterweight cap.

Earlier today at the UFC 196 weigh-ins, Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor had their final staredown before their welterweight scrap tomorrow night. After their heated staredown, that saw Diaz make McGregor flinch, Diaz went off on the featherweight champion in his interview.

During today’s UFC Unstoppable press conference, UFC president Dana White announced that a key welterweight bout between Stephen Thompson and Rory MacDonald will headline June’s UFC Fight Night 89 event in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Stephen Thompson is coming off a spectacular showing against former title holder Johny Hendricks, whom he TKO’d in the very first-round at UFC Fight Night 82. The victory marked “Wonder Boy’s” sixth-straight win inside of the octagon.

During today’s UFC Unstoppable press conference current UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold took some serious verbal shots at former champ and future opponent Chris Weidman: “Bisping looked good, Anderson held back and didn’t pull the trigger. UFC veteran Nate Diaz’s “touch butt” comments about his opponent UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s movement training with Ido Portal has likely started a new hashtag trend on social media. Both the Diaz brothers mocked McGregor’s movement training with Portal. On an episode of UFC Embedded, Nick Diaz ridiculed Portal and McGregor’s training with a pool noodle. “Yoy have a fu*king guy swinging a fu*king pool noodle at you, smacking you in the face with it, you know trying to promote, promote his own shit,” the elder Diaz brother said. “It’s a joke.”

Things were heated between McGregor and Diaz through the entire presser and came to a climax when “The Notorious” punched Diaz’s hand away from his face during their face-off.

Dos Anjos updated everyone with his injured foot.
