Sam-A and Suakim added to ONE Fight Night 42 card on April 10

ONE Championship has added two Muay Thai bouts to ONE Fight Night 42: Eersel vs. Rungrawee on Prime Video airing on Friday, April 10, live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Sam-A Gaiyanghadao meets Moroccan standout Elmehdi “The Sniper” El Jamari in a strawweight clash, while Suakim Pongsuphan PK faces Russian technician Vladimir Kuzmin in bantamweight action.

Sam-A enters the contest at 377-50 overall and 11-4 inside ONE Championship, riding a two-bout winning streak after outpointing Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi at ONE Friday Fights 137 last December.

The former two-sport, two-division ONE World Champion — who won the inaugural ONE Flyweight Muay Thai, ONE Strawweight Muay Thai, and ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Titles — has made clear his intentions to pursue one final run at gold under Prajanchai PK Saenchai’s strawweight Muay Thai crown. A dominant showing on April 10 would go a long way toward making that case.

El Jamari arrives with a 27-2 record and a first-round knockout of Thongpoon PK Saenchai on his ONE resume. The Barcelona-based Moroccan dropped a decision to Aliff Sor Dechapan in his follow-up bout and comes in hungry to get back in the win column and to derail a legend’s championship ambitions in the process.

Suakim brings a six-fight winning streak into a high-stakes bantamweight collision

The second addition is equally compelling. Suakim, a three-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, carries a 155-60 career record and a 7-2 promotional slate built on five finishes into his clash with Kuzmin.

His most recent outing — a US$50,000 performance bonus-earning knockout of Jake “The One” Peacock last November — underlined the finishing power that has defined his ONE Championship tenure. Six straight wins heading into April 10 make him one of the division’s most dangerous men.

Kuzmin brings a hybrid Muay Thai-kickboxing style and the experience of facing world-class opposition including Jonathan Haggerty and Muangthai PK Saenchai.

The Fight Club Archangel Michael representative has won two in a row and arrives capable of switching stances and launching spinning strikes that create constant danger from every angle.
