Akbar Abdullaev planning snatch and grab of Featherweight MMA World Title at ONE Fight Night 27
Fifth-ranked featherweight MMA contender Akbar Abdullaev is looking to pull off the heist of the year at ONE Fight Night 27.

“Bakal” challenges ONE Featherweight MMA World Champion Tang Kai this Friday, January 10. The pair meet in the main event inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium.
Abdullaev’s rise to the upper echelon has been nothing short of meteoric. He blitzed through Oh Ho Taek and Aaron Canarte inside 45 seconds. Then he handed Halil Amir the first loss of his career with a monstrous second-round knockout.
At ONE Fight Night 27, the unbeaten contender won’t veer away from what has brought him to the dance. Instead, he wants to serve Tang with the same hit-and-run treatment and leave Lumpinee Stadium with the crown.
“My fight style is total annihilation, quick finishes, and aggression,” Abdullaev said.
“This time I will again try to avoid the judges’ decision and win early. I think judges are not necessary in my fights, and I will try to finish sooner than expected.”
Akbar Abdullaev wants to put Kyrgyzstan MMA on the map
There’s an unmistakable sight when #5-ranked featherweight MMA contender Akbar Abdullaev walks to the ring.
That sight is the blazing red and yellow of the Kyrgyzstan flag. Whether it’s tied around his head or laced over his shoulders, it’s clear he’s proud of his heritage and his homeland. And all he wants is to do is put his country on the map.
“This is the goal of my life – to represent my motherland and my people to the whole world,” Abdullaev said.
“So that the whole world knows there are such strong fighters as the Kyrgyz. This is an honor for me.”
