Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler will team up to train Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents in hand-to-hand combat.

UFC lightweight stars Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler will reunite to help train Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents on hand-to-hand combat techniques to use while out in the field.

Gaethje and Chandler were among seven former and current UFC fighters invited for an upcoming seminar at the FBI’s headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. The seminar will take place on March 14th and 15th, as the fighters train academy students and senior FBI agents.

The news comes after UFC CEO Dana White and several FBI officials expressed interest in a partnership between the two organizations. White is an avid supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump and will host a UFC card on the White House lawn this summer.

FBI director Kash Patel addressed the upcoming seminar in a recent press release.

“I’m thrilled to announce this historic seminar between the FBI and the UFC at Quantico,” Patel said of the upcoming seminar.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our FBI agents to learn and train with some of the greatest athletes on earth — helping the world’s premier law enforcement agency be even better prepared to protect the American people.

“Dana White has changed the game in the mixed martial arts industry and we’re extremely honored to be partnered with him, the professionals, and the UFC. We are grateful for their shared love of our nation, so that we can better defend her.”

Gaethje and Chandler will be joined by former BMF titleholder Jorge Masvidal, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, and others. Gaethje and Chandler fought in an instant classic bout at UFC 268, with Gaethje earning a unanimous decision win.

After defeating Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324, Gaethje will fight for the undisputed lightweight title at UFC Freedom 250 against Ilia Topuria at the White House. The full card was announced last weekend during the UFC 326 broadcast.
