Ahead of UFC 207 on Saturday, two fighters missed weight for their scheduled scraps.

The first was UFC flyweight Ray Borg, who is scheduled to fight Louis Smolka on the first PPV bout of the night. Borg missed the flyweight non-title fight limit by three pounds when he stepped onto the scales this morning in Las Vegas.

The second was former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, who missed weight for the second time in a row as he weighed-in three pounds over the welterweight non-title fight limit. Not only does this mark the second time in a row that ‘Big Rig’ has missed weight, leading up to his fight with Tyron Woodley before that, he was hospitalized and forced out of the fight due to complications with his weight-cut.

Following both fighters missing weight, UFC commentator Joe Rogan took to social media to call for fighters to fight at their natural weights so as to avoid the always-present dangers of cutting weight.

With IVs now being banned following weigh-ins, the hope was that in addition to USADA being able to do more accurate tests for PEDs, fighters would cut less weight and subsequently be less at-risk. Unfortunately, as we have seen this year, fighters have continued to cut massive amounts of weight, and ultimately either miss weight, or endure horrific weight cuts like Cris Cyborg has in both of her UFC scraps, which took place at 140 pounds.
