Freddie Haggerty steps out of Jonathan’s shadow and into a round-two knockout plan against Yonis Anane at The Inner Circle

Freddie Haggerty steps into a strawweight Muay Thai bout against WBC Muay Thai World Champion Yonis Anane at The Inner Circle, streaming live for members at live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, May 22.
The 21-year-old Londoner carries a 23-5 professional record and a 100 percent finish rate in ONE Championship, with three knockouts across his three promotional wins. His lone promotional loss came by unanimous decision to Jordan Estupinan at ONE 170 in January.
Now he returns at strawweight, his home division, against an 18-year-old French-Thai prodigy trained at the same gym as his brother’s most credentialed opponent.
The Estupinan loss stung, but Haggerty has not let it reshape how he approaches a fight. He studied Anane’s patterns at Lamai Muay Thai Camp in Koh Samui, found what he believes is a structural weakness in the game, and designed a round-by-round blueprint around it.
“I feel like Yonis has only one game plan. Once his game plan gets messed up, he sort of panics and doesn’t know what to do, so he just goes swinging. But I’m always ready for him to go swinging,” he said.
“I’m ready to be smart, I’m ready to pick him apart. I’m just ready for anything. Also, I don’t think he’s got the grit and heart to go into deep waters with me. I think he’s scared to get hit, if I’m being completely honest.”
Freddie Haggerty has a round-two finish planned and one eye on ONE SAMURAI 2
Freddie Haggerty is not guessing at how this fight ends. He has mapped it out round by round, assigned specific objectives to each, and is backing his hands to deliver the result he has scripted in his head.
Jonathan Haggerty will be in his corner again on Friday night, and Freddie described precisely what that presence brings. Not just guidance, but something harder to manufacture.
“The first round will be a feeling-out process. I’m going to get my range and get his timing down. Then, in the second round, I will push the pace, and that is where I will knock him out,” he said.
“Jon will be there come fight night. Whether I’m losing the round, whether I’m winning the round. He’s been there, and he knows how to handle things, so it’s great to have his experience. Having him there is also an inspiration. It helps me push harder because I know what he’s achieved, and I know it’s a big, big shadow, but the bigger the shadow, the bigger the star to shine.”
