On March 5th in Las Vegas Conor McGregor will now fight Nate Diaz in a highly anticipated welterweight showdown in the main event of UFC 196. Given the ability of both men to hype fights with trash talk, McGregor vs. Diaz has everyone talking. It was revealed on Twitter yesterday that famed chef Gordon Ramsay, who is from Scotland, will be making a special trip to Las Vegas just for UFC 196 to support Conor McGregor.

When Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 main event scrap with Conor McGregor at UFC 196, there was no shortage of top ranked fighters campaigning for the fight against McGregor. Ultimately the UFC gave Nate Diaz the bout on short notice. After that bout was announced, Urijah Faber revealed that Dana White offered him the fight, however Conor McGregor turned it down in favor of a with with Nate Diaz.

The pair threw verbal insults at one another throughout the course of the press conference, with Nate Diaz even going as far as to accuse Conor McGregor of using steroids.

While Conor McGregor is slated to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 196 on March 5th, he has his sights set of Nick Diaz in the future. At the UFC 196 press conference on Wednesday, McGregor repeatedly used the microphone to make statements towards Nick Diaz, who was not on stage but was at the event. In addition, McGregor referred to Nate Diaz as “Nick’s lil bro” several times throughout the event.

A fan posted a photo of himself wielding an AK-47 on Twitter along with several Tweets warning McGregor to “be careful” following the UFC 196 press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger Chael Sonnen thinks everybody missed the point of Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor taking place at the welterweight limit of 170-pounds. According to Sonnen, the UFC 196 main event fight between McGregor and Diaz was set at 170-pounds so that the UFC can promote a welterweight title fight between “Mystic Mac” and Robbie Lawler later this year at UFC 200.
