Colby Covington goes off on the UFC after not getting booked for White House card

UFC veteran Colby Covington has gone off on the promotion for the way they have handled him in recent times.
When you talk about controversial figures in the UFC, Colby Covington is a name that often comes to mind. He likes to play the ‘heel’ character and has done for many years now, and while it has allowed him to work his way into big time fights, he has never been able to go a step further and become an undisputed world champion.
Still, he’s a relevant name in the MMA landscape, and Covington knows better than most how to market himself. His hope, understandably, was that he would be able to break onto the UFC Freedom 250 card – but that didn’t happen.
In a recent interview, Covington made it clear that he isn’t exactly in a good place with the UFC right now.
Covington discusses UFC White House card
“They just have me sitting around for the last 14 months doing nothing,” Covington said.
“They haven’t offered me one f—— fight. I tried to go wrestle Arman and they said no. How does that make sense? We’re independent contractors.
“They’re treating me unfairly, I’m sick of it. They’ve done me dirty my whole career,” he added.

While Colby isn’t exactly a fan favorite for a lot of fans in mixed martial arts, there’s no denying that there is a narrative starting to build against the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Between strange fights being booked, cards not living up to the hype and fighters reportedly being low-balled financially, we are entering a very interesting time for the promotion.
Keep an eye on this, because it feels like frustrations are really starting to grow, especially with the Netflix card and Eddie Hearn out there making noise.
