Bryce Mitchell makes stunning admission on UFC future after Dana White hints he rooted for him to lose in 2025

Polarizing UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell doesn’t know if he’ll fight in the Octagon again, amidst a tense relationship with Dana White.

UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell went from fan favorite to one of Mixed Martial Arts’ most-hated personalities in a year. After anti-semitic remarks he made during the opening episode of his podcast, Mitchell hasn’t been in the good graces of the UFC matchmakers and fans.

Mitchell bounced back from two recent stoppage losses with a dominant win over Said Nurmagomedov last July at UFC Abu Dhabi, defeating the talented Dagestani by unanimous decision. Seven months and counting since Mitchell’s win, the former The Ultimate Fighter standout remains without a fight for his anticipated return to the cage.

Mitchell’s lengthy hiatus has ignited questions about the polarizing UFC fighter’s future. In Mitchell’s mind, he’s prepared to hang up the gloves if he doesn’t get an offer soon.

Bryce Mitchell teases going back to ‘blue collar work’ amid uncertain UFC future

In a recent interview on the Red Hawk Recap podcast, Mitchell was asked about when he expects to return to fighting, and gave a cryptic response.

“Not in particular. At this point, I’m just happy to get what I get, you know? I’ll take anything and I just want another fight,” Mitchell admitted.

“Who knows, they might not give me another fight. I don’t know what’s gonna happen. If they don’t give me a fight, I’ll just do blue collar work the rest of my life.” (h/t Bloody Elbow)

Mitchell appeared on the cusp of a UFC featherweight title shot in winning his first six outings in the promotion. His 15-fight unbeaten streak came to an end against Ilia Topuria at UFC 282, and he’s traded wins with losses ever since.

If this is the end of Mitchell’s UFC career, he’s come a long way since his TUF days, for better and for worse.
