There is a great amount of respect in martial arts and although the trash talk and hype for promotion is surely a big part of mixed martial arts today, there is still a ton of respect and great sportsmanship in MMA.

We get a good look at some values seen in this video here from the Russian promotion Fight Nights Global. Opponents Abdul Khalid Davlyatov and Ilnur Samigullin met in the cage back in April of last year where Davlyatov knocked Samigullin out with a devastating overhand right. Davlyatov saw that he had knocked Samigullin out cold and didn’t follow up with any more punches and then starting trying to bring his opponent back to consciousness.

As the medical team and officials tended to Samigullin, you can see the great amount of concern Davlyatov had for his opponent. After Samigullin got back to his feet, Davlyatov shows a great sign of sportsmanship and lifts his opponent’s hand in the air for the crowd.

What respectful moments in MMA stand out in your mind? Let’s discuss this one in the comment section.
