UFC officials announced today that a heavyweight clash between Soa Palelei (21-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Jared Rosholt (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is the latest addition to June’s “UFC Fight Night 43” event in New Zealand.
The announcement comes just days after Soa Palelei scored a first-round knockout against Ruan Potts at last Saturday’s “UFC Fight Night 40” event in Cincinnati. Since returning to the UFC, “The Hulk” has gone 3-0, with all three victories coming by form of knockout. The Australian heavyweight is currently riding an 11-fight unbeaten streak that dates back to 2011.
Meanwhile, former three-time All-American wrestler Jared Rosholt most recently fought in April of 2014, where he earned a decision win over Daniel Omielanczuk at the “UFC Fight Night 39” event in Abu Dhabi. Prior to that, Rosholt defeated Walt Harris by unanimous decision at the “Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale” in November of 2013.
“UFC Fight Night 43” is headlined by a middleweight bout featuring Nate Marquardt taking on James Te Huna. The event goes down June 28 live from Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand and will stream in the US on UFC Fight Pass.
