Back in August of 2016, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight superstar Nate Diaz stepped into the Octagon for their highly anticipated rematch following Diaz’ submission win over McGregor five months prior.
In the rematch, McGregor looked to employ a much different gameplan, opting to look to pick Diaz apart over the course of 5 rounds, working the leg kick in the early rounds to slow his phenomenally conditioned opponent down.
The fight wound up going the distance as McGregor wound up securing a majority decision win over Diaz, avenging his UFC 196 submission loss.
In the video above, you can see unaired footage from between rounds of Conor McGregor’s cornermen, SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh, and SBG Ireland striking coach Owen Roddy, giving McGregor advice. In addition, you can see UFC President Dana White cageside with Boxing great Mike Tyson, actor David Spade, and famed chef Gordon Ramsey.
