In 2015, Estonian Sumo wrestler Baruto Kaito stepped into the ring with Kickboxing legend Peter Aerts for an MMA fight that left many fight fans stunned.
While many expected Aerts to dominate the fight despite his age, it was Kaito who managed to pick up the win, in a pretty lopsided affair.
To make matters even more surprising, the fight was Kaito’s first MMA fight after the end of his sumo career. On the flip side, for Aerts, it was his final MMA fight, which saw his record drop to 1-2. With that being said however, Aerts has since returned to the win column in kickboxing, snapping a 2-fight skid that had seen him go winless since 2013 as he picked up a unanimous decision win in the Netherlands in April, extending his professional kickboxing record to 106-34-2.
