Emotions run high in competition but competitors need to keep their composure and remain professional if they want to continue in their sport.
Here, we take a look at this incident that took place over the weekend at Aggrelin 19 in Munich, Germany where things got a bit out of hand.
Austrian MMA Fighter Wilhelm Ott and Nihad Nasufovic fought in the main event of the evening and things took a turn for the worst as the final fight came to an end. Nasufovic caught Ott in a rear-naked choke and Ott is seen repeatedly and frantically tapping the canvas submitting to the choke. Nasufovic ends up letting go of the choke after Ott tapped but the ref stands above watching and doesn’t physically intervene to stop the fight. Ott immediately gets up after getting released from the choke and goes up to the ref and pushes him and throws a couple of punches at the ref’s body. Others then get in the cage to make sure Ott didn’t continue his attack on the ref.
What are your thoughts on how the referee did his job? Was Wilhelm Ott’s reaction called for or not? Let’s discuss this in the comment section.
