UFC 175 Bonus Report: Weidman, Machida, Rousey and Font Take Home Extra Cash

Fight of the Night: Chris Weidman def. Lyoto Machida
This fight was intriguing from the get-go as Weidman was the one cutting off all the angles Machida attacked from— a strategy “The Dragon” used to use so well. Weidman dominated the former light heavyweight champion for three rounds and it seemed like things were going downhill for Machida until the fourth. Machida started attacking the body of Weidman, which drained the champion’s gas tank allowing Machida to pepper him with shots for the remainder of the fight. By the end of the bout, Machida was bloody and Weidman’s sides were bruised badly. This was a necessary victory for Weidman as he hushed all the non-believers that called his victories over Anderson Silva a fluke. He went five full rounds with a former champion and ate some serious shots; Chris Weidman is the real deal.

Performance of the Night: Rob Font
Rob Font kicked off the FS1 preliminary portion of “UFC 175” off with a bang. Despite experiencing a serious reach disadvantage, he was still able to get inside striking distance of Roop and blasted him with a devastating right hand. Roop fell in slow motion and the referee waved the fight off soon after.

Performance of the Night: Ronda Rousey
How could you not give Ronda Rousey a bonus tonight? For those of you who missed the pay-per-view, you could probably find a recap of the full-fight in a .GIF! She powered through Alexis Davis in less than twenty seconds and now holds the quickest title defense in UFC history.
