Team Alpha Male BJJ coach sees Dillashaw and Faber fight happening

By Russell Ess - October 19, 2015

Fabio “Pateta” Prado, Team Alpha Male’s jiu-jitsu coach spoke with Sherdog on the recent split between UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and Team Alpha Male.

TJ Dillashaw

“Dillashaw left because a new team in Colorado offered him a good salary to train there and be part of the team,” Prado told Sherdog. “I understand his point and I can’t criticize that, but what I can say is that we have at least 10 talents like him at Team Alpha Male. There are not only fighters here, but great trainers. I’m sure we’ll produce another champion soon,” Prado added.

Regarding the clash between the young champion and his mentor Urijah Faber, Prado says that he thinks a fight between the two former teammates will happen.

“I don’t see the UFC losing that amazing opportunity to use all this hype to promote such a great clash of champions,” Prado said of the potential fight. “Faber didn’t want that fight in the past, but now he feels comfortable facing him.” Prado mentioned that previous sparring sessions indicate it would be a “real clash of champions.”

Do you think the former teammates will meet in the octagon? Who do you have coming out on top?
