Chael Sonnen is set to compete in the main-event of “Metamoris 6” in front of viewers on pay-per-view, but in an empty arena.

Sonnen makes his second appearance for the grappling company tonight as he steps onto the mat to face Renato “Babalu” Sobral. Metamoris announced earlier this week that the event will be closed off to the public and media, but offered no reasoning. The only way for people to watch the bout will be on pay-per-view from their website.

Sonnen spoke to Bloody Elbow about the bold move they are making with closing the event off to the public. “I don’t know what their plan is. I’ve only done one Metamoris before and I had a great time, and it’s one of those situations where I’m going to have to go through with… To answer your question I have no more info than you have. I’ve been told the same thing. Not open to the public and not open to the press, I just read that today. So, I don’t know anything more than you do.”

After acknowledging that they may be going for a “Bloodsport” feel, Sonnen agreed. “I liked the comparison. I think that is the analogy they are going for too.”
