UFC officials announced that a lightweight bout featuring Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout (19-9-1 MA, 8-8 UFC) and Cody McKenzie (14-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) is the latest addition to the “UFC on FOX 9” card, set for December 14 in Sacramento.

Earlier today, UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell (33-9 MMA, 3-2 UFC) announced that he had been suspended for 9 months, for elevated levels of testosterone. The suspension itself, was not handed out by the athletic commission that oversaw his most recent fight, but instead by his promoter, the UFC.

I’m coming to beat Frankie Edgar.” During his brief stint on last night’s UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1, BJ Penn announced that he is in talks with famed nutritionist, Mike Dolce, to help him make the two-division adjustment down to 145 pounds.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and plaintiffs in the Jones v. Schneiderman case, are pleased to announce that yesterday the Federal District Court found that their challenge to the constitutionality of New York’s ban on mixed martial arts (MMA) can go forward. The court recognized that the State Athletic Commission and the Attorney General have repeatedly changed position on whether amateur and professional MMA can occur lawfully in the state of New York, which plaintiffs argue renders the ban unconstitutionally vague. While other claims in the lawsuit were dismissed, the UFC and plaintiffs are prepared to win their case and defeat the ban with the court’s green light on the vagueness challenge.
