Recently, talks of a potential return from former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre have increased. To add to speculation, photos emerged of St. Pierre training with famed boxing coach Freddie Roach recently.

Rory MacDonald

Yesterday at the UFC’s ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ Q&A with fans, Andrei Arlovski, Max Holloway, Ben Rothwell and Rory MacDonald were on hand.

A fan asked Rory MacDonald about the status of GSP’s return, and what ‘Red King’ would do if GSP returned given that the pair are in the same weight class. MacDonald’s response gave away more than he intended to.

“From what we’ve talked about, he’s not coming back for the belt. He’s coming back for the odd fight I think that interests him”

The crowd immediately erupted in cheers as MacDonald realized what he had just done. He began to attempt to contain the damage, saying:

“If… If he comes back…. Okay, keep it in your pants. I don’t know if he’s coming back. But as far as I know, if he does I think he’s more interested in super-fights and whatnot.”
