Lineker Slams “The Talking Cricket” Ian McCall
John Lineker and Ian McCall don’t face off until UFC Fight Night 56 this weekend, but the pair have continued to trade verbal shots back and forth.
Linker continued to heat things up in a recent interview with MMAJunkie, where he compared McCall to Jiminy Cricket from the childhood story, Pinocchio.
“I am really happy to have been moved to the co-main event. It makes me want to win even more.
“Ian McCall is a great fighter. I do respect him, as I do all of my opponents. He does talk too much, though. He talks more than The Talking Cricket. He talks as much as he runs.”
“I am not irritated in the least. Now Ian on the other hand, he does seem irritated, doesn’t he?
“I will fight as always. I love to fight; I always bring my best. I always let it all hang out, and that’s what I’ll do again.”
Recently on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan stated that if McCall beat Demetrious Johnson he would be the ‘Pound for Pound’ king (Read about that HERE). Despite being ranked #9 in the UFC’s official rankings, Lineker wants a title shot if he beats the #4 ranked McCall.
“If I beat McCall, and I will, I will deserve that shot,”
