‘Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung hopes to return to the octagon this summer

By Chris Taylor - January 27, 2014

Chan Sung Jung (13-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) was last seen in action at UFC 163, where he took on Jose Aldo for the UFC’s featherweight title in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After landing some hard punches on the longtime featherweight champion during the first couple of rounds, the “Korean Zombie” eventually would suffer a shoulder injury (separated shoulder) in round 4, that would lead to his eventual TKO loss to the Brazilian.

BJPenn.com’s Chris Taylor recently spoke with Chan’s agent, Brian Rhee, who stated the following regarding Jung’s rehab and potential return date:

“Zombie’s rehab is going well. We are shooting for a summertime return to the cage.”

Great news for fight fans, as the “Korean Zombie” is an obvious fan favorite who leaves it all inside the cage.

Hopefully Chan’s rehab continues to go well and he can make his long-awaited return to the octagon this Summer as planned.
