Jon “Bones” Jones is dominating community service

By BJPENN.COM News - October 18, 2015

Jon “Bones” Jones’ career took a turn for the worst earlier this year in April when he was involved in another run-in with the law. Jones allegedly fled the scene of a three-car accident which he apparently caused. Jones only came back to what would become a crime scene to pick up money from his car, only to run away again.

Jones turned himself in to the police twenty-four hours later and the UFC had no choice but to strip him of his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Now nearly six months later, Jones found out he will not be receiving jail time but rather will be participating in mandatory community service. Jones got a jump-start on the process and has already visited several schools to share how he almost lost his career just off a few bad choices.

Jones is truly on the path to redemption and it looks like it is a change for the best. He recently visited Sandia Prep School and a spokesperson from the school informed TMZ Sports, “His message to my team was simply awesome. His whole demeanor was great.”

UFC has yet to comment on the return of “Bones” to the octagon, but one can assume it will be happening sooner rather than later. The UFC Light Heavyweight Championship picture will be experiencing a bit of a hold-up while Daniel Cormier takes some much-needed time off after a busy 2015. Do you think Jon Jones should wait and square off with Cormier for the championship upon his return, or should he take a fight with “Rumble” or Bader to prove that ring rust will not be a factor when he fights for the gold?
