Max Holloway may have lost to Conor McGregor back in 2013, but now that he’s riding a 7-fight win streak that has seen him finish 6 of his opponents, his confidence is at an all time high, and he think’s it’s time Conor McGregor pay attention.

Since defeating Holloway via unanimous decision, McGregor has picked up another 4 wins, and even claimed the interim UFC featherweight championship.

Holloway, who is currently slated to fight Jeremy Stephens at UFC 194 on December 12th, spoke to MixedMartialArts.com in an interview to discuss his fight against Conor McGregor, as well as the possibility of a future fight against McGregor.

“It’s not when I want a rematch. It’s when a rematch is gonna happen. It’s going to happen. He said he might go up to 55 or whatever. I’m only turning 24 at the end of this year, and I’m probably going to stay at 45 a little bit longer, but I’m probably going to go up to 55. So we’re going to run into each other again it’s inevitability. It’s just going to happen. It’s one of those guys I’m probably going to fight a couple times you know? And I’m happy with that, I can’t wait.”

When asked about McGregor’s plan to go up to lightweight, Holloway said:

“The IV ban is hurting a lot of fighters, so we’ll see what happens. But, I know I’m going to fight Conor a couple times. I don’t know if it’s at featherweight, I don’t know if it’s at lightweight, we’re going to fight a bunch of times. I can feel it. I just want to fight him you know?”

“There’s no reason why you’re going to beat Jose and then try and run away. Try and clean up your diet a little more and try and stay down you know? There’s a lot more to do at 45. If anything I could tell him ‘why you running? Why you running from the featherweight division? Why fight that guy and then run away?’ There’s a lot of fights he can make at featherweight, so go prove it.”
