Dana White: We will do 13 MMA events in Brazil in 2014

By Chris Taylor - September 30, 2013

UFC President Dana White told the mixed martial arts media during yesterday’s presser scrum that fans can expect 13 separate events in Brazil next year (2014):

“We’ll do 13 next year, and not only continue to grow this market, but create more talent here. There’s just so much talent in Brazil. The fact that we have the opportunity now, with the backing of Globo and Combat TV and all the other great networks that are down here, to be able to showcase this great talent, hold these events, and not just here, but beam it all across the world, it’s so huge for this country. It’s so huge for the athletes down here.”

Brazil has always been a hotbed for MMA and has produced some of the world’s greatest fighters.  Brazilian fighters like Jose Aldo (145) and Renan Barao (135), who are currently champions in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), will now have the chance to fight at home more often than not.
