Cris Cyborg: ‘White’s Criticism A Joke, I’m Sure He’ll Find Another Problem With Signing Me’

By BJPENN.COM News - February 24, 2014

With the every growing popularity of Women’s MMA and the ongoing hunger for a Cyborg vs. Rousey title clash, Cris has made it a point to stop hindering her eventual move to the UFC.

With the weighty issues behind her and on the heels of losing Tito Ortiz as a manager, Cyborg, is hoping that a stint down in weight, outside the UFC, will be enough to get her a new ZUFFA contract to endorse.

While UFC president Dana White still pours salt on old wounds, Cyborg is making the best of the situation and she touched on that topic in a recent interview with MMAFighting.com.

“I’m sure (White) will find another problem (with signing her)… I don’t think (the criticism) is unfair, I think it’s a joke. How many (fighters) were caught in the UFC? It’s easier to point a finger to an athlete that fights for other promotion. Have you ever seen someone shoot at their own foot?”

Cris makes some valid points, and should she find success under the Invicta FC banner as a bantamweight fighter, the UFC will have a hard time denying her access to their ranks.

For his part, Dana White, recently said he was slightly open to the idea, if the Invicta featherweight champ can successfully make the weight.
