UFC On Fuel TV: Korean Zombie v Poirier - Weigh In

Fan favorite, ‘The Korean Zombie’ aka Chan Sung Jung has been sidelined from MMA competition for two years while he completes a mandatory two years of service to the South Korean Military.

The Korean Zombie broke the news on his Facebook page in his native language of Korean, and MMAJunkie confirmed the news with his manager, Brian Rhee

Jung will not be required to serve in the field, but rather will be spending his required service time doing office work due to his injuries in MMA.

The Korean Zombie will be doing his service from home, making it possible for Jung to spend time with his wife, who will be expecting the birth of their son very soon, and still making it possible for him to train.

Jung will not be able to compete in any competition, MMA or otherwise.

We would like to wish Chan Sung Jung the best of luck in his military career for the next two years, and look forward to seeing him return to the cage one day.
