Bisping cautions Rousey on firing coach

At UFC 193 this past Saturday, the gap in striking ability between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm was a very obvious one.

While Holm is a former boxing world champion and Rousey is a former Judo Olympian, many blame Rousey’s longtime head coach Edmond Tarverdyan for her lack of a standup game.

Michael Bisping spoke on his SiriusXM show about the possibility of Rousey firing her coach after her first MMA loss.

MMAMania has the transcription:

“What Ronda’s going to do, she’s going to sit down with her team and they’re going to analyze it. What went wrong, what went right. You know, she comes from a great camp. All these people that are talking that she needs to change camps, that she needs to fire her coach, I just think that’s absolutely ridiculous.”

With all of that being said, if he was in the position of a coach and was fired by his protege after one loss, how would he feel?

“I’d never speak to that woman again. I’d say, ‘you asshole, I wish I’d never met you.’ So for people to say, ‘fire him,’ that’s a little too much if you ask me. Come on, it’s been one fight, one loss. She’s done very well up until now.”
