Edmond Tarverdyan, widely known as the coach of the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, is in trouble with the California State Athletic Commission. MMA Fighting reported on Tarverdyan’s situation and what lead to his issue with the CSAC. Apparently Tarverdyan had his corner license revoked in California for allegedly lying on his application regarding his arrest history.

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos believes that his bout with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is where he will become a highly recognized prized fighter with a big draw in the UFC. Although dos Anjos is a champion, his star power isn’t on the same level as the outspoken Irishman. Dos Anjos previously said that he wants to build his legacy and name to be as big as Hall of Fame legend BJ Penn, and will look to make his name more known with a win over McGregor. Conor McGregor stole the show at the UFC 197 press conference earlier this week when he put Rafael dos Anjos on blast for nearly 45 minutes. The most intense moment of the press conference however came when the pair had their first staredown at the end of the event. UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, who trains with Rafael dos Anjos at Kings MMA spoke to MMAFighting to discuss what he would have done in dos Anjos’ position.

The pair fought to a decision, the first and only of McGregor’s career, and saw ‘The Notorious’ given the nod. After the fight it was revealed that McGregor had torn his ACL, and would need surgery. He returned to the Octagon and went on a 5 win streak, claiming the UFC featherweight championship in the process.

This past Sunday Dominick Cruz returned to the Octagon for just his second fight in 4 years as he reclaimed his UFC bantamweight championship after picking up a split decision win. Following Cruz’s win he found himself being called out by nemesis Urijah Faber, and there was much speculation as to whether or not Faber would get a title shot, or if Dillashaw would get an immediate rematch.
