UFC 192’s Sage Northcutt: I’ve known since 9 I was going to be in the UFC

By BJPENN.COM News - October 4, 2015

Sage Northcutt took the world by storm before he even stepped foot in the octagon at “UFC 192”. Fans were taken aback when they first saw the sport-karate champion dominate his opponent in a Legacy Fighting Championship months ago.

UFC President Dana White was in attendance at the event and was so impressed by the nineteen year old, he signed him to a contract for their upcoming event in Northcutt’s hometown of Texas!

Fans were quick to dismiss the hype of the nineteen year old phenom, but Northcutt proved the hype was real when he dominated his opponent Francisco Trevino in less than a minute! It was a moment Northcutt knew would happen since he was just nine years old.

“I was put on the cover of Sport Karate magazine, and at 9 years old, I said I’m going to fight in the UFC and be on TV… so I called it,” Northcutt told the media during a scrum. The karate champion won his fight in exciting and quick fashion, so he is already ready to come back to the octagon.

“I’m ready right now,” Northcutt revealed. “If I could fight two fights on this night, I would right now.”

When do you think Northcutt will return to the octagon? Is he going to be an eventual world champion, or does he still have something left to prove to his naysayers? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
