Report: Anthony Pettis vs. Eddie Alvarez Targeted For January

By BJPENN.COM News - September 9, 2015

It looks like the UFC is trying to put together a lightweight fight between the former champion Anthony Pettis and former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez.

The report comes from Combate, who say the UFC are looking to put it together in January.

Pettis hasn’t fought since losing his belt in a shocking upset against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185. Alvarez is coming off of that controversial decision win over Gilbert Melendez at UFC 188 in Mexico City.

It looks like Alvarez caught word of the report and took to Twitter to make it seem like he didn’t know anything about it. But he also didn’t deny it.

Hmmmmm.

What do you guys think, are you down for this fight? The fight isn’t official by any means, but we’ll keep you posted with any updates.
