The officials for the two championship fights that headline and co-headline UFC 187 have been selected by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Friday morning.

“Big” John McCarthy landed the duty of officiating the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Daniel Cormier and Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. The individuals set to judge the bout are Derek Cleary, Adelaide Byrd, and Chris Lee.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson was originally scheduled to face Jon “Bones” Jones in the main event of UFC 187, but legal troubles forced Jones to be pulled from the event as he was stripped of the title and ultimately suspended. Daniel Cormier was able to step out of his fight with Ryan Bader and was named as the co-challenger to the vacant title along with Johnson and they were announced as the new main-event for the card in Jones’ absence.

In the co main-event, Herb Dean will be the third man in the octagon when UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman defends his title against Vitor Belfort. This fight was supposed to happen a couple times before, but injuries and technicalities caused setbacks. Sal D’amoco, Marcos Rosales and Junichiro Kamijo were named the judges for this contest.
