McCall Out, Dodson In to Welcome Scott Jorgenson to Flyweight Division at UFC on FOX 9

By bjpenndotcom - October 29, 2013

After Ian McCall was forced out of his bout with Scott Jorgenson at UFC on FOX 9, the UFC sought a replacement to welcome Jorgenson (14-7) to his new division of flyweight.

They found that replacement in another former number one contender in the UFC’s lightest division in John Dodson (15-6).

Dodson will be making a quick turnaround having just defeated Darrell Montague at UFC 166. Before that, Dodson lost a title fight with still-champion, Demetrious Johnson after going on an absolute tear, winning his previous three fights including being crowned champion of The Ultimate Fighter 14 in the bantamweight division.

For Jorgenson, he drops weight after hitting a road block in the bantamweight division, dropping three of his last four, even though all three losses came at the hands two former contenders and the current interim champion of the division.

UFC on FOX 9 takes place on December 14th at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. It is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and number one contender, Josh Thomson.
