Manager: Cormier is one of the best of all time; he’s just not better than Jones

By Chris Taylor - October 28, 2015

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones made headlines last week, this after UFC officials announced that “Bones” had been formally reinstated by the promotion.

Jones’ return to the octagon is being targeted for early 2016, where he is expected to rematch current UFC light heavyweight title holder Daniel Cormier.

Jon Jones manager, Malki Kawa, recently spoke to Fox Sports where he stated that even though he considers “DC” to be one of the all time greats, he is still not on the same level as Jones:

“The reality of it is we all know DC needs this fight just as bad as anyone does. Jon doesn’t need to fight DC for anything, the only thing that Jon needs to fight DC for is to get the belt back around his waist and be called the champion again by the UFC and the reporters,” Kawa said. “In reality, in our hearts and everything, we understand that we never lost that belt.”

He continued:

“We understand that he’s the greatest of all time, in my opinion, he’s the greatest of all time. He’s the greatest fighter I’ve ever seen fight. The string of people he’s beaten, including Daniel Cormier — and I think Daniel Cormier will go down as one of the greatest as well — so a lot of respect towards Daniel Cormier. I think he’s a phenomenal fighter, he’s just not better than Jon.”

Do you agree with Kawa that Jon Jones is already the best fighter of all time? Sound off Penn Nation!
