‘Korean Zombie’ likely out one year following surgeries

By Chris Taylor - August 22, 2013

Chan Sung Jung (13-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC) may have to wait a bit longer than originally expected to get back into the UFC featherweight title hunt, as his manager Brian Rhee informed MMAFighting.com that “TKZ” could be out of action for up to a full year while he recovers from surgeries he had to repair his seperated shoulder and broken orbital bone.

“The Korean Zombie” suffered the injuries during his featherweight title fight opposite Jose Aldo at UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The timetable for his return, according to Rhee, is dependent on the rehab process.

As one of the UFC’s most exciting fighters, we can only hope that Jung will have a speedy recovery and return to the octagon sooner than later.
