Following the action at “UFC Fight Night Boston”, Frankie Edgar spoke on the Fox Sports 1 post-fight show to discuss Conor McGregor’s #1 contender status, as well as how McGregor matches up against Jose Aldo.
“Siver just broke my heart, but McGregor looked sharp. Conor’s bringing excitement to the division. All of us need to thank him. I don’t want to thank him for taking my title shot, but he’s earned it. Aldo is a different animal. He has the speed and the length. But McGregor was able to get up quickly after taken down. Now we know about that.”
During the course of the Siver bout, McGregor was taken down twice, however popped right back to his feet quickly, and even showed some of his skills on the ground when he passed a rocked Siver’s guard to side control, and then obtained the mount, where he landed shots on Siver to get the TKO stoppage.
