Anthony Johnson vs. Jan Blachowicz is no longer happening.

The good news for fight fans is that “Rumble” will still be fighting at September’s UFC 191 event in Las Vegas and against fellow knockout artist Jimi Manuwa.

UFC officials announced the news today adding that Manuwa was recently cleared to resume training so they opted to book him against Johnson instead of Blachowicz.

A new opponent for Jan Blachowicz is expected to be sought out for the event.

Anthony Johnson (19-5 MMA) will return to the cage for the first time since his title loss to Daniel Cormier at May’s UFC 187 event. Prior to the loss, “Rumble” had put together an impressive nine-fight win streak, which included UFC wins over Phil Davis, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Alexander Gustafsson.

Meanwhile, Jimi Manuwa (15-1 MMA) returns to action for the first time since defeating the aforementioned Jan Blachowicz via unanimous decision at April’s UFC Fight Night 64 event. “The Poster Boy” has gone 4-1 thus far in his UFC career, with his lone loss coming to Alexander Gustafsson.

UFC 191 takes place September 5 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by a flyweight title fight rematch featuring champion Demetrious Johnson taking on challenger John Dodson.
