Tyron Woodley requests that the UFC do him one favor before fighting Kamaru Usman

Current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is still waiting for the promotion to officially book his next title defense.

Despite perennial division contender Kamaru Usman recently posting a signed bout agreement, a fight between “The Chosen One” and “The Nigerian Nightmare” has yet to be made official by the UFC.

If Tyron Woodley has it his way, he will get to “whoop” Colby Covington’s ass before moving on to eventually fight Kamaru Usman.

Woodley and Covington have had bad blood for some time now. That beef escalated after “Chaos” defeated Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision at UFC 225 to claim the promotions interim welterweight title.

Covington was later stripped of that belt, this after nasal surgery kept him from competing against Woodley at UFC 228.

“T-Wood” would go on to face Darren Till at September’s pay-per-view event, winning that fight via second-round submission (watch that here).

Most recently, Kamaru Usman turned heads by scoring a dominant decision win over the aforementioned former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

Following Usman’s impressive showing, UFC President Dana White said that he was “willing to move on” from the proposed Tyron Woodley vs. Colby Covington matchup.

On his most recent episode of “The Hollywood Beatdown” on TMZ, Tyron Woodley explained why he wants to finish what he started with “Chaos” before inevitably moving on to Kamaru Usman.

“I want to whoop Colby’s ass to be honest,” Woodley stated. “Because they done built this dude up. They allow [Colby] to annoy the universe with his terrible sh*t. He’s garbage. I think it is just way more to sell this fight, and the [UFC] is not going to allow me to fight a guy like [Conor] McGregor, or let me go up a weight class. I’ve never been allowed to go up a weight class to fight for a title. I have asked to do it a million times. [Michael] Bisping, then they let GSP [Georges St-Pierre] come in and fight him.”

Tyron Wooldey continued:

“So if those fights aren’t on the table, I’m gonna end up fighting [Kamaru] Usman anyways, so let me fight Colby first! Let me get this bag right quick, and let me whoop his ass!”
