Ex-UFC star Cain Velasquez has ended his prison sentence. Outlets such as the San-Jose Mercury News reported that Velasquez was released from Soledad’s Correctional Training Facility on Sunday. Details on the terms of his release are unavailable at this time. Video has surfaced of Velasquez being greeted by his family and a mariachi band.

Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway are set to collide in the UFC 326 main event, but it won’t be the first time they clash. On Aug. 23, 2015, Oliveira and “Blessed” had a featherweight bout in Saskatoon. The fight ended abruptly just one minute and 39 seconds in. Oliveira suffered a ruptured esophagus and Holloway was awarded the TKO win.

Dricus du Plessis believes he can put forth a far better effort against Khamzat Chimaev in a rematch. Chimaev turned in a dominant performance against du Plessis back in Aug. 2025. “Borz” had nearly 22 minutes of control time on his way to a unanimous decision and the UFC middleweight title. It was a wipeout and many questioned who can give Chimaev a run for his money at 185 pounds.

Joshua Van capped off his historic run up the UFC flyweight rankings with a title win at UFC 323 over Alexandre Pantoja. Just seconds into their fight, Pantoja suffered an injury after being taken to the canvas during a grappling exchange, forcing the referee to step in and wave off the fight.

Boxing superstar Shakur Stevenson ruffled some feathers with comments he made earlier this week about Mixed Martial Arts and the UFC. Stevenson, sitting alongside Terence Crawford while on influencer Adin Ross’ stream, publicly called out Ilia Topuria and claimed boxing is superior to MMA.

ESPN and ONE Championship announced a multi-year exclusive broadcast agreement, bringing the organization to audiences across Australia and New Zealand. The deal positions ESPN as the sole broadcaster for ONE events in the region, excluding select pay-per-view offerings. The agreement launches with ONE Fight Night 40 on Saturday, February 14, at 1:00 PM AEDT from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium. ESPN will broadcast all ONE content live across its distribution network spanning Disney+, Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Fetch TV, and Sky NZ. Coverage includes flagship numbered events, monthly ONE Fight Night shows, and the weekly ONE Friday Fights series.

A longtime UFC analyst and coach feels that Conor McGregor will finally make his return at the UFC White House event. McGregor hasn’t seen action inside the Octagon since 2021 when he broke his leg in a trilogy fight against the now retired Dustin Poirier. Returns have been teased for McGregor. The “Notorious” one was even booked for a UFC 303 showdown with Michael Chandler, but it ultimately never materialized.

The UFC is headed back to Canada, and the fight card for the event is already coming together. The MMA promotion is set to touch down in Ottawa, Ontario, the country’s capital city, on April 18. The event will most likely occur at the Canadian Tire Centre, the home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators. The plan has not been officially confirmed by the company, but several  journalists have reported the card is in the works, including veteran Canadian MMA media member Adam Martin.
