The UFC tentatively has reserved the Madison Square Garden on April 23rd for a highly anticipated Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier rematch at UFC 198 without knowing for certain whether or not New York will allow the UFC to host an event there. On January 19th the UFC requested a ruling from Judge Kimba Wood in regards to their Primary Injunction filed back in September.

Since Dominick Cruz reclaimed his UFC bantamweight championship on Sunday night in Boston there has been much speculation as to who he would defend his title against first. While many felt that the fight with Dillashaw was close enough to warrant an immediate rematch, Urijah Faber played the role of the opportunist and called out Cruz within moments of ‘The Dominator’ reclaiming his belt.

Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley will be the last fighter to get into the ring with boxing great Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao.  Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KO) is the current WBO welterweight champion.  Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO) will be ending his successful career win or lose on a high note just for giving the fans one last fight before he hangs the gloves up for good.

Former UFC fighter Cung Le went back to his bread and butter doing action films and he’s just as action packed as always.   In 2008 Le one the Strikeforce middleweight title and entered the UFC in 2011.   His first task was Wanderlei Silva at UFC 139, the scrap ended  in a TKO loss for Le.

Many people who watched the UFC bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and T.J. Dillashaw on Sunday can agree that the fight was extremely close. Cruz ended up winning a split decision to reclaim the belt from Dillashaw in a competitive five-round fight Dillashaw poured his feelings out in an Instagram post talking about the fight and calls Joe Rogan out for what he feels was bias commentating in favor of Cruz. Although judges do not hear what the UFC color commentators are saying during the fight, Dillashaw simply seemed bothered by Rogan’s commentating.

The UFC announced Tuesday afternoon that Jacare Souza vs. Vitor Belfort would headline a May 14th card in Brazil. The bout is a pivotal one for both fighters. Jacare is coming off a split decision loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 194 that saw Romero become the #1 contender at middleweight, however due to a failed drug test this bout between Jacare and Belfort will likely determine the #1 contender spot at middleweight.

Former champ TJ Dillashaw lost his title over the weekend, but the 25 minutes in the octagon may of been the most ‘drama free’ time for Dillashaw will be having these days. Duane Ludwig seems to be going on the defensive and letting everyone know that he is the reason where Dillashaw is at in his career ‘success wise’ and Urijah Faber had little to do with the former champs success. It was a gruesome injury that Matt Mitrione suffered in his controversial fight against Travis Browne at UFC Fight Night 81. Upon getting it checked by a doctor, Mitrione revealed that he suffered a broken orbital floor as well as a shoulder injury at the hands of Browne in a TKO stoppage, but not before two accidental eye pokes earlier in the fight. While Browne said the pokes were an absolute accident, Mitrione says he believes the injuries would not have happened if the eye pokes did not occur.

Urijah Faber has been jockeying for a trilogy fight with Dominick Cruz since ‘The Dominator’ reclaimed his UFC bantamweight championship from TJ Dillashaw this past Sunday in Boston. Following the bout, Faber spoke to media members to discuss a potential trilogy fight with Cruz, where he revealed that the pair have been exchanging heated words via text messages for years.

There has been much speculation as to whether or not our namesake BJ Penn would be coming out of retirement for a fight with Nik Lentz. Recently, Lentz penned an open letter to ‘The Prodigy’ in which he stated his terms for a fight, and that a fight wouldn’t happen unless Penn agreed to those specific terms. Penn joined Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, where he revealed that his retirement is officially over, and that he’s going for the featherweight strap with famed coach Greg Jackson in his corner.
