Tuesday morning news surfaced that Rafael dos Anjos had broken his foot and would be unable to defend his UFC lightweight championship against Conor McGregor at UFC 196 on March 5th. As can be expected with less than 2 weeks before fight night, the UFC began to scramble to find a replacement opponent for McGregor. Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, fresh off his win Saturday night, offered to take the fight on short notice. In addition, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis offered to fill-in and fight McGregor.

The UFC is still trying to find a replacement opponent for Conor McGregor at UFC 196 on March 5th after Rafael dos Anjos withdrew form the bout with a broken foot. With less than 2 weeks until fight night Donald Cerrone offered to take the fight, and is even in the gym training. In addition former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has asked for the fight against McGregor.

With UFC 196 less than two weeks away, fans are anxiously awaiting Conor McGregor’s UFC lightweight debut. Unfortunately, Tuesday morning news surfaced that Rafael dos Anjos had been forced to pull out of the fight due to a broken foot. It was revealed by Kings MMA head coach Rafael Cordeiro that dos Anjos wouldn’t need to undergo surgery, but would need to stay off his foot for 3 weeks.
