This past Saturday, fight fans witnessed an action packed night of fights headlined by a welterweight title scrap that saw Tyron Woodley capture the UFC welterweight championship by knocking out Robbie Lawler in just minutes. In the wake of the event, MMAFighting obtained the medical suspensions for the fighters on the event. As always, fighters who didn’t receive medical suspensions are handed the mandatory 7-day suspension.

When Tyron Woodley stepped into the Octagon Saturday night in the main event of UFC 201 to fight Robbie Lawler, welterweight #1 contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson was paying close attention. Thompson, who was on the FS1 broadcasting team for the evening, knew he would likely be fighting the winner of the scrap. Ultimately, Tyron Woodley knocked out Lawler in just minutes to win the welterweight championship. Despite that, during the FS1 post-fight show, he shut down Stephen Thompson’s chances of a title shot, opting to call out Nick Diaz instead.
Rafael dos Anjos reportedly set to return in Mexico City on November 5th

On the heels of Rafael dos Anjos losing his UFC lightweight championship to Eddie Alvarez on July 7th in Las Vegas, the former champ is looking to return to the win column before the end of the year. News surfaced this week from Champions.co that dos Anjos would be returning to the Octagon at the TUF Latin America 3 Finale on November 5th in Mexico City to fight #3 ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson in a pivotal lightweight showdown.

Earlier this month, when Amanda Nunes defeated Miesha Tate to claim the UFC women’s bantamweight championship, it was revealed that Ronda Rousey could receive an immediate title shot against the newly crowed champ. While there was no word on whether or not Rousey would take the offer, news has now surfaced that the UFC is unsure of whether or not Rousey will come back.

Following the win, Woodley appeared on the Fox Sports 1 post-fight show to discuss the bout. During the show, welterweight #1 contender Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson asked Woodley when he would like to have their fight.
