UFC stars Ilia Topuria and Alex Pereira visit Donald Trump at the White House

There were once again UFC fighters in the Oval Office on Wednesday, as a group of decorated champions visited Donald Trump at the White House.
The White House is set to host a UFC fight card on June 14, which happens to be Trump’s birthday. The event, which will occur on the south lawn, will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between champ Ilia Topuria and challenger Justin Gaethje, who holds the interim belt. In the co-main event, former two-division champ Alex Pereira will look to win gold at heavyweight. He’ll be taking on Ciryl Gane for the division’s interim belt.
With the UFC White House event getting closer by the day, the stars of the card visited Trump in the Oval Office for a bit of promotion. It was a pretty subdued affair — no surprise given the setting. However, there were some interesting moments, including Trump’s introduction of the fighters, which you can see below.

Topuria also asked Trump why he would want his friend, Justin Gaethje, to participate in such a tough fight. That led to an interesting exchange too, with Topuria proclaiming 100 per cent confidence in victory.

🗣️ Gaethje: “Because he knows that’s what I want.”

Trump has been visited by many UFC stars over the years. The first was former interim welterweight champ Colby Covington. One of the latest was commentator Joe Rogan. Both endorsed Trump before his latest election, as did UFC CEO Dana White and many other high-profile fighters.
