Former two-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen is not supporting this weekend’s third fight between Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell.

“The American Gangster” recently took to Twitter where he referred to both men, Ortiz and Liddell, as “has beens”.

“Tito Ortiz HAS BEEN a world champion. Chuck Liddell HAS BEEN one of the most feared fighters in mixed martial arts. The most important fact I’ve mentioned here is that both are HAS BEENS.”Chael Sonnen

Interestingly, Chael Sonnen actually lost to Tito Ortiz not that long ago. The product of West Linn, Oregon was submitted by “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” at Bellator 170 in January of 2017.

With that said, Chael Sonnen has gone 2-1 since suffering that setback to Ortiz. “The American Gangster” scored decision victories over MMA legends Wanderlei Silva and Quinton Jackson before being TKO’d by Fedor Emelianenko in his most recent effort.

As for Tito Ortiz, the former UFC light heavyweight champion has not competed since his aforementioned victory over Chael Sonnen.

The soon to be 44-year-old, Tito Ortiz, has won three of his past four fights overall including a submission win over former Bellator middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko.

As expected, Chael Sonnen wasn’t done with just one tweet. The brash Bellator standout proceeded to take aim at Chuck Liddell.

“After this fight, when Chuck retires he’ll probably write his autobiography. When he does he’ll have written more books than he’s read. Look I’m not saying he’s as dumb as dirt. I’m not. He’s dumber.” – Chael Sonnen

Chuch Liddell will fight for the first time in over eight years this weekend. The 48-year-old “Iceman” was last seen in action at UFC 115 in June of 2010 where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to former middleweight champion Rich Franklin.

Chuck Liddell’s most recent win came back at UFC 79 in December of 2007 when he defeated fellow legend Wanderlei Silva via unanimous decision.
